In our ongoing effort to eradicate harmful practices against women and girls in Ghana, we organized a successful community outreach in Kukoo, Nyankpala (Northern Region). The outreach brought together community members, comprising traditional leaders, children, women, men, and representatives from the Commission for Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ). The outreach sensitized the community about the adverse effects of certain customs and traditions that perpetuate harmful practices against women and girls. The involvement of CHRAJ, Inclusive Health For Africa, and the support of UNICEF Ghana contributed to the event’s effectiveness in raising awareness and fostering positive change among the people of Kukoo.
