CALL FOR CURIOUS MINDS YOUNG BOARD MEMBER

ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

Children and Youth in Broadcasting – Curious Minds is a youth-led organisation that works to promote the development needs and aspirations of young people in Ghana and across the globe. The organization’s approach to children and youth development is a rights-based one with full and meaningful participation of young people as a pivot for our engagement at all levels of programme/project conceptualisation, planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

THE SEARCH

Curious Minds seeks a passionate young person aged between 20 to 25 (both ages inclusive) to join its dynamic board, and help in charting the next strategic phase in the organization’s ever advancing development as a leader in the youth development sector of Ghana.

The ideal candidate will bring on board the unique perspective of young voices in shaping organizational strategies, policies, and vision. The two-year tenure will be served working together with management and strategic partners of Curious Minds to create a harmonious synergy between the various components of the organization.

REQUIREMENTS

• Should be between 20 and 25 years of age.
• Should have actively been involved in children’s rights and development advocacy for at least 2 years.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (a basic knowledge of French is a plus).
• Must have demonstrated the capacity to influence policy, especially towards young people’s development.
• Must have sufficient knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals.
• Must be available to participate in quarterly meetings (virtually and in-person).
• Must be aligned with Curious Minds’ mission, vision and core values.
• Should have a fair knowledge of the AU and UN child rights and development policy landscape.
